EYFS Phonics Overview

Phonics education technique shown to have positive impact on literacy.

Children taught to read using phonics techniques achieve "very high" results in reading tests.

The method teaches children to read by identifying and pronouncing sounds rather than individual letters. In lieu of this, the school organized a phonics overview seminar for the parents to help them understand the basic techniques of identifying and pronouncing sounds. The seminar was held at the school and parents received structured teaching about the way in which written letter (graphemes) relate to spoken sounds (phonemes)
