Pre-School 1

Children in Pre-School follow a syllabus that is guided by the requirements of the Foundation Stage. The Foundation Stage begins when children reach the age of three (Early Years 1 and 2), continuing through to the age of five (+) to the final year, which is described as the Reception year. The Foundation stage also plays the important role of transition in preparing children for learning in Key Stage 1. The foundation stage syllabus sets out six areas of learning covering children’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Each of these areas includes several aspects of learning which have been listed below:

Personal, social and emotional development (PSED)

Communication, language and literacy (CLL)

Mathematical development (MD)

Knowledge and understanding of the world (KUW)

Physical development (PD)

Creative development (CD)
